Get out of the house! Why it’s important for older adults to be social.

Aside from having the opportunity to live a higher quality of life, social interaction and stimulating activities present some very important health benefits for senior citizens, such as: a potentially reduced risk of dementia, reduced stress, more fitness, reduced risk of depression, greater self-esteem, and most importantly, prevents self-isolation.

Caring for a loved one?

Caring for an aging loved one can be incredibly stressful, even on the best days. We understand that you want to keep them at home, and you too, need a break for social time or even work. That’s where we come in.

What people are saying about Diane and Elder Pep!

  • “ Diane helped me care for my father. She was like another daughter to him, another sister to me. She advocated for his every comfort, needs, and care. Caring for someone does not need a degree or blood ties. Caring for someone is a natural instinct that is organically spontaneous because that care comes from understanding and compassion from the heart. Diane anticipates what's in one's best interest. She is genuinely concerned about the quality of how people are treated. In our modern, "advanced" culture, we tend to forget where we come from… I am happy and honored to have had Diane be a great part of helping me care for my Dad. With gratitude, thank you Diane for helping me be a better daughter.“

    — Ann N.

  • “Diane has a wonderful vision for how she and Elder Pep can bring some happiness and dignity to our local senior community in a caring environment. May God's blessings and abundance shower down on her and Elder Pep, and may she achieve boundless success giving our seniors a place to take care of their needs while having some fun! May Elder Pep be a place where our loved ones can smile, laugh, and have some companionship...a place where they can put some "Pep" back in their steps! Best wishes, Diane and Elder Pep!”

    — Chris Y.

  • “What a gift Diane is to the elderly. She cared for my mother-in-law (not an easy charge) for 3 years. The more people who can experience the love & care that Diane has for them, the better!”

    — Deborah D.

  • “Diane is a reliable and responsible person whom I've come to trust and depend upon. She is consistently available to communicate about my mother's care and has been more than generous in supporting me throughout this difficult time. She has a great deal of experience working with the elderly and has offered excellent advice and encouragement whenever I have had questions or concerns. Diane has an engaging and positive personality.”

    — Michael U.

  • “Diane's passion to help others, in particular, those who are elderly and most vulnerable is altruistic. This initiative will provide elevated care options and bolster competition in the space advancing elder care while servicing our community. I wish you all the success in this endeavor and thank you for your commitment to our seniors.”

    — Andrew C.

  • “This woman, Diane Yane, is a Godsend to many seniors and their families. I first learned her name through my dad. My dad was an army vet who loved to help other veterans, especially those at Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center. He would go with his group, The Grey Socks, and sit, talk, and play with the residents there. Diane was the incredible woman who would help him organize these visits. My family would also gather donations through our church and my children’s scout organizations so my dad and ourselves could bring these items, things we take for granted every day but are luxury items for them, to those who deserved them most. Unfortunately, seniors all too often are overlooked or forgotten about but not by Diane. Thanks to my dad, I’ve gotten to know Diane and am blessed to call her my friend. She is amazing and will do great things for these seniors and their families! Love you Diane and I hope you will allow me to help in this extraordinary endeavor! ♥️”

    — Tracy W.

  • “Her compassion, work ethic and service focused care was exceptional, as was her ability to perform her job above and beyond the call of duty. However, those are not the only attributes that placed Diane above her peers… Diane is a contagiously positive person who is self motivated and thinks outside the box… She understands people’s needs and desires and finds ways to link those who have needs with those who have a desire to meet others’ needs. Over her 5 year tenure with Sitter and Barfoot Diane took it upon herself to formulate relationships and networks with organizations in the community for the betterment of our veterans.”

    — David M., Director of Rehabilitation at Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center

  • “Diane is mature and highly intelligent with a wonderful sense of humor as well. My Mother really enjoys her visits with Diane and considers her a close friend. Diane is honest, dependable, and hard-working.”

    — Greg B.
